Welcome to Pine Hill German Shepherds!
We are a small family business raising working-line German Shepherds on 40 acres of rural countryside in the backwoods of New England. We specialize in producing high-quality German Shepherds known for their exceptional personalities, working drive, scent detection abilities, and balanced temperaments. Our primary focus is early puppy socialization, development, and training. With only one breeding female, Freda (our beloved family member), we have the unique opportunity to carefully plan each litter, dedicating countless hours to observing and working with our puppies. This approach allows us to shape their early training and socialization using tested and proven methods. As breeders, we are privileged to play a vital role in shaping our puppies’ futures during the early weeks we spend with them, preparing them to excel in any area of training later in life. Raised within our home and surrounded by our family, our puppies receive plenty of love and care from day one! Each puppy has its own unique personality traits, just as every person does. Our goal is to match each puppy with the best possible family, ensuring their new home aligns with their individual traits and needs. We’re exited to offer litters from time to time and look forward to helping you find your perfect companion!
All of our dogs are proudly registered with the AKC; however, we believe in going the extra mile. To ensure our puppies grow up healthy and happy, we conduct comprehensive genetic and health screenings through reputable veterinarians. This includes evaluations of their hips, elbows, eyes, and heart by the OFA, as well as testing for the 12 most common genetic diseases in German Shepherds. Our goal is to provide you with German Shepherd puppies that not only have excellent temperaments but also thrive in health and happiness.
Located in Northern Maine
We are located in the rural backwoods of Northern Maine, in Penobscot County, about one hour from Bangor, ME, and two hours from Portland, ME. All of our puppies can be picked up at our home. For those unable to make the trip, we offer special delivery options. Feel free to reach out with any questions about delivery options–we’d be happy to work with you!

Unleashing the best in each puppy
As breeders, we hold an almost magical ability to influence what happens later in our puppies’ lives. We take the responsibility of raising puppies very seriously. Our puppies are raised using Puppy Culture, ESI (Early Scent Introduction), and early socialization techniques. Each puppy has a unique personality, and we have the incredible opportunity to be a part of the first nine weeks of their lives, helping to shape and nurture their potential.
